My Own Book Challenge

I am always encouraging new writers to READ children's books--if they want to be better writers. I was just browsing through some blogs and found one called, "Home Girl's Book Blog". Basically it seems to be full of different challenges to the blog's readers. One of the challenges is to read 100 books in a year. I think I read more than 100 books a year so I am going to make my own personal challenge. I know what books I have read this summer because I always keep those books separate so I can share them with my students. So, my personal challenge is to document the books I read for a year. My challenge is going to be from June 1, 2010 to May 31, 2011.

Should we challenge one another? Let's see who can read the most books during these 12 months. Mine are listed on the left side of my blog.
Happy reading!

  1. i love it! i've been keeping track of the books i read for the past few years because i kept forgetting what i'd read or when i'd read it. i'd try to tell a friend about a great book only to realize i couldn't remember the name of the book. For the past few years, i've been closing in on fifty books, so i'm not sure i'll make it to one hundred, but i'll have fun trying.

  2. I think you can do this on goodreads. My daughter told me I needed a goodreads account and set me up but I haven't figured out how to use it yet.

  3. I did this last year, but have fallen short this year. Actually haven't read as many books this year since my hubby was working in Denver for 9 months. I will try to get some more in there now that he's back. See you at the conference!
